Pressure Washing Before Selling Your Home — A Smart Move
Listing your home? Here's the pre-sale pressure washing checklist that helps you sell faster and for more.
Before the listing photos, before the open house, before the inspection — wash the exterior. It's one of the cheapest, highest-impact things you can do.
The pre-sale checklist
House wash (soft-wash siding, stucco, eaves, trim). Driveway and walkway surface clean. Roof soft-wash if there are visible streaks. Solar panel cleaning if the system is part of the value. Gutter cleanout and downspout flush. Window cleaning to brighten interior light in listing photos.
Timing
Schedule washing 1–2 weeks before photos. That gives time for any post-wash drying and small touch-ups.
What it does for the listing
Listing photos look brighter. Buyers see a maintained property. Inspectors find fewer cosmetic concerns. Easy win.
